The Varied Bunting (Passerina versicolor) belongs to the Passerina genus of birds in the Cardinal family Cardinalidae.
It is mostly found in Central America, with a northern breeding range that extends into the furthest south parts of the U.S. states of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
