Primary is an adjective meaning "first" or "firsthand". It may refer to:
- Primary education or Primary school
- The Primary Association, a children's organisation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
- Primary care.
- A primary consumer in an ecosystem.
- In astronomy, the primary is the most massive component of a gravitationally bound system.
- A primary winding the driven winding of a transformer
- Primary transmission lines that carry the highest level of distribution voltage used in electric power transmission. They are usually located at the highest position on utility poles.
