Gypsy

Gypsy or gipsy most commonly refers to one of these ethnic groups:

  • Roma people, an ethnic group in Southern and Eastern Europe and the Middle East
  • Irish Travellers or Pavee, a nomadic people living in Ireland, Great Britain, and the United States
  • Sea Gypsies, different peoples of Southeast Asia
  • Lyuli, an ethnic group in Central Asia
  • Yeniche (people) of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and Belgium.

Gypsy may also refer to:

  • "The Gypsy", a 1945 popular song
  • Gypsy: A Musical Fable, a musical loosely based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee
  • Gypsy (1962 film), a film version of the musical starring Rosalind Russell
