Science fiction set in the 27th century

  • Jerzy Żuławski's classic tirilogy of novels On a Silver Moon are set in the 27th Century in which a race of moon dwarves search through spiritual enlightenment for a route back to Earth. Written in 1901-1911, the trilogy is one of the greatest works of Polish science fiction.
  • In the Futurama episode entitled "When Aliens Attack" the Planet Express crew spend their Labour Day at Monument Beach when Fry wonders why almost every monument is at Monument Beach when Leela tells Fry that in the 2600s New Yorkers voted for a super-villain governor that stole all the world's monuments. On Mount Rushmore you can see his face carved where Thomas Jefferson should be.
  • The Night's Dawn Trilogy books by Peter F. Hamilton, consisting of The Reality Dysfunction, The Neutronium Alchemist and The Naked God are set in the year 2611.
  • The video game series Wing Commander takes place during the mid to late 27th century.
  • Most of the F-Zero series, which is one of Nintendo's video game franchises, takes place during the early 27th century.
  • In both Bill & Ted movies (Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey), the "future scenes" take place in 2688 and 2691, respectively.
  • Several characters in the Star Trek universe originate from this century.
  • In the Futurama episode entitled A Big Piece of Garbage, Fry said that the professors smellescope was great as long as he didn't have to smell Uranus. Leela did not get the joke because as the professor told Fry astronomers renamed Uranus in 2620 to get rid of that awful joke once and for all and changed it to urectum.
  • The Contra series of video games (with the exception of Neo Contra) is set during this century.
  • The video game Earthsiege 2 begins in the year 2624, with the Earth having been in a major global war against a self-controlled AI called "Prometheus".
